Cambridge Department of Public Works Recycling: This page provides a searchable database of local resources to recycle/reuse a wide range of items: from appliances and electronics to paint and propane tanks.
- The Cambridge Recycling Advisory Committee meets monthly online and at 147 Hampshire Street to discuss special projects such as updating the Zero Waste Master Plan in 2024 and review the progress on the City’s lofty waste reduction goals. The public is welcome to attend the meeting and citizens may apply to serve on the committee as vacancies arise.

Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection: The Reduce/Reuse/Recycle page provides information about ways to move toward more waste reduction, reuse and recycling.
Earth911: An extensive resource with a searchable database of recycling resources across the country as well as recycling guides.
Maine Department of Environmental Protection has information on a variety of recycling topics and programs to identify and encourage adoption of practices that conserve material resources used in daily life.
Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection: This recycling and reuse page outlines policies, grant opportunities, and contact information for regional Municipal Assistance Coordinators.
National Recycling Coalition (NRC): A non-profit organization focused on promoting and enhancing recycling across the country. The site provides information on conferences and events around the country. The Resources page has links to educational resources to inform local, state, and national recycling efforts.
New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services: The Solid Waste Management page provides information on recycling policies and has links to NH recycling resources. Household or curbside recycling programs vary by municipality.
The Northeast Resource Recovery Association (NRRA) is the oldest and largest cooperative-model recycling nonprofit in the United States. NRRA partners with over 450 municipalities, businesses, and individuals throughout New England to make recycling strong through economic and environmentally sound solutions.

Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management provides information on numerous waste facilities including recycling, hazardous waste and oil, and medical and infectious waste.
The Recycling Partnership is a non-profit working on the ground with thousands of communities to transform recycling programs by working with government to develop policy solutions to address the systemic needs of the residential recycling system, offers grants, and provides insights on recycling behavior.
Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation: The site provides information and links to the state’s solid waste and recycling program as part of its Agency of Natural Resources and Department of Environmental Conservation.
